Welcome to the Vicksburg District Library's new Teen Blog, written by the new Teen Librarian, Beth. In case you didn't hear the news, John left Vicksburg to take a new job up in Lansing! We will all miss him, but it's time to start looking ahead to all of the cool events coming up.
Speaking of which, let's look ahead to the spring (which can't come soon enough)! Over the next few weeks, we will be catering to your competitive sides by having a lot of competitions and games. On Tuesday, February 19, we will have an Internet Scavenger Hunt and the week after, Tuesday, February 26, we will be holding a Crazy Contest Competition. Both of these events are from 3-4 in the library basement and both will contain fun, food, and prizes!! So, come early and bring your friends!
Also, consider joining TAB -- the Teen Advisory Board. We meet once a month and plan events, pick out library materials, eat snacks, and have a lot of fun. There is a meeting next Thursday, February 21 -- stop in and grab an application if you're interested.
Some of the upcoming events for March include Anime Day: Part 2, a Wii Dance Contest, Peeps Dioramas, and our own edition of Silent Library (a spin-off of the popular MTV game show).
I think most of you have come in and met me by now, but if not, what's the hold up? Come on in and say hi! Also, Ms. Kristy and I have been pulling together new ideas for this website, so have a look around and don't be shy about giving us your input. This page is for you guys, after all.
